Session 1: Getting Started with Encaustic
Session 1: Getting Started with Encaustic
Be introduced to the world of Encaustic as Daniella explains where it all began, the supports and grounds, how to size a panel and achieve a white ground too. You’ll also get to work on a project: rust on panels and paper.
Session 2: Transfers, Words, Friends and Family
Session 2: Transfers, Words, Friends and Family
In this session you’ll be introduced to the world of transfers, integrating words into your encaustic art as well as create on your own morning pages collage.
Session 3: Colour, Nature, Line and Edge
Session 3: Colour, Nature, Line and Edge
For the final session of the series you will experiment with colour in your work. Daniella will guide you through working with nature as well as exploring line and edge in your creations. Finally, you’ll learn to stitch and pour/dip.

Meet the Master: Daniella Woolf
Daniella Woolf is an artist, author, curator and instructor in encaustic, fiber and mixed media. She describes her work as ‘an amalgamation of materiality, mathematics and repetition’ and her preferred medium is encaustic because of the versatility it offers. Formerly a founding partner of Wax Works West, a school for the encaustic arts, Daniella is currently exploring stenciling and multi-dimensional paper mixed media art as well as enjoying walks along the Santa Cruz Coast, California, where she lives with her wife, Kim.
Galli Creative
Galli Creative produces educational workshops focused on textile, stitch, surface design and encaustic arts. Their teaching format is self-guided featuring some of the leading art instructors in the world. Most instructors are published with DVDs and books in print, and many have achieved the highest recognition in their field.
In addition to producing educational workshops, Galli Creative produces archival educational video for leading museums. Their documentary film work has taken them from Southeast Asia to Latin America to Europe with an emphasis on fashion, creativity, sustainability and restorative methods.

Our classes vary in length, with some being one-session specials and others series. You can find out the length of any class by viewing its details on the Immediate Live Academy website.
For our on-demand classes, you can get a feel for the style of the class, its key learnings and who the tutor is by watching the trailer for the session(s) before purchasing.
All of our on-demand content is provided with optional subtitles in English (GB).

Payment Questions
To pay for a class, you will need to click ‘Buy Now’ to add the class to your basket and click ‘Proceed to Checkout’. You will then need to login or create an account on Immediate Live Academy’s website, which will create your own portal to view all of your content. Here, you can purchase your class by inputting your card details.

Using the Website
Liking a class saves it to your ‘Wishlist’ for 30 days. You must be logged in to save a Wishlist, and you can find this in ‘My Account’. Once you have saved a product to your Wishlist you are able to come back and purchase the class at a later date (within 30 days).
You can use the search function by clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner of the website and typing in a key word, phrase or presenter name. You can also browse and search classes by category, using the options in the top left-hand corner of the site, and use our filtering options.
To refine your search, click on the filter icon to see all filter options. Select the fields you would like to filter by and click ‘Apply Filter’.
To reset these fields, click ‘clear all’.
