Be introduced to the world of Encaustic as Daniella explains where it all began, the supports and grounds, how to size a panel and achieve a white ground too. You’ll also get to work on a project: rust on panels and paper.

In this session you’ll be introduced to the world of transfers, integrating words into your encaustic art as well as create on your own morning pages collage.

For the final session of the series you will experiment with colour in your work. Daniella will guide you through working with nature as well as exploring line and edge in your creations. Finally, you’ll learn to stitch and pour/dip.

Daniella Woolf is an artist, author, curator and instructor in encaustic, fiber and mixed media. She describes her work as ‘an amalgamation of materiality, mathematics and repetition’ and her preferred medium is encaustic because of the versatility it offers. Formerly a founding partner of Wax Works West, a school for the encaustic arts, Daniella is currently exploring stenciling and multi-dimensional paper mixed media art as well as enjoying walks along the Santa Cruz Coast, California, where she lives with her wife, Kim.
Galli Creative
Galli Creative produces educational workshops focused on textile, stitch, surface design and encaustic arts. Their teaching format is self-guided featuring some of the leading art instructors in the world.
