The Art Fund: Future-Proofing the Museum Sector
Research published in 2021 by Art Fund identified key trends for museums and what was going to be most important to them, specifically following the global pandemic. It revealed a new model for the museum where the physical space is no longer dominant. Museums have brought their local communities into the heart of their collections and programming, working off site and online in creative and innovative ways to adapt to the experiences of the last 18 months, and by embracing their closest neighbours, and foregrounding their wellbeing, museums can begin to plan for a different, more connected, future. For this panel discussion, chair Julia Bell is joined by The Art Fund, 2021 Art Fund Museum of the Year Award winner Firstsite in Colchester, and 2020’s award winner, Towner Gallery, Eastbourne
This talk was recorded on Wednesday 23rd March 2022 at 12pm as part of London Art Fair's online talks programme.
