London Art Fair Preview – Curators Highlights
Chaired by Paul Robinson, CEO, Artlyst, this panel will provide a preview of what to look out for at London Art Fair 2022, including our curated sections Photo50 ‘No Place is an Island’ curated by Rodrigo Orrantia, Platform galleries curated by Candida Stevens with a theme of ‘Art & Music’, Naomi Polonsky, Assistant Curator of London Art Fair’s 2022 Museum Partner The Women’s Art Collection, Cambridge, will provide a preview of their special exhibition including a selection of works from the largest collection of art by women in Europe. LAF 2022 curators will be joined by Sarah Monk of London Art Fair who will provide highlights of the fair to see this year.

Paul Carter Robinson FRSA, is the founder, CEO and Editor in Chief of Artlyst. He is a senior arts and culture professional, who began collecting and dealing in contemporary art 20 years ago. He the author of the book '20th Century Pewter Art Nouveau To Modernism' (ACC, 2012). He has been an active art journalist/reviewer and editor for the last 10 years.

Sarah Monk is the Portfolio Director of London Art Fair, which encompasses museum quality Modern British art and international and emerging contemporary art. Every year, London Art Fair connects over 130 of the best galleries from around the world with both seasoned and aspiring collectors, providing a unique opportunity to discover and champion the most outstanding modern and contemporary art of our time.
After studying Fine Art at the University of Ulster, Belfast, Sarah worked for the Serpentine Gallery and Public Programme’s at the Hayward Gallery and National Touring Exhibition’s, before moving to Upper Street Events to launch a Fair for emerging artists. Sarah became Director of London Art Fair in 2014 developing new initiatives such as the highly acclaimed Museum Partnership and Dialogues section encouraging new forms of presentation and exchange between international and UK emerging galleries. Sarah has also sat on several Art Prize jury’s including The Solo Artist Award and Art Prize CMB.

Rodrigo Orrantia is an art historian and curator, specialised in photography. Having achieved his MA Photography from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and MA History and Theory of Art and Architecture at the National University of Columbia, he has since been awarded as winner of the Landskrona Foto Open Call 2020 and winner of the Format Festival Habitat Award 2017. In 2022 he finds himself curator of the Photo50 exhibition at London Art Fair 2022 edition, which this year is titled ‘No Place is an Island’.

Candida Stevens studied History of Art (BA) at University College London, Business Psychology (MSc) at University of Westminster and Art Finance and Collection Management with TIAS Business School. After 20 years of immersion in business, initially new media, then luxury goods and fine art, curating collections and developing and directing small businesses, Candida moved from London and set up independently as Candida Stevens Gallery.

Naomi Polonsky joined the New Hall Art Collection in 2018 as Art Assistant. Having graduated from the University of Oxford and the Courtauld Institute of Art, she has worked at a number of museums and galleries including Tate Modern, Kettle’s Yard and Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, London. She has written on modern and contemporary art for publications including The Guardian, the Times Literary Supplement, Hyperallergic and Artsy.
